Why Source Campaign and Source Fields Don’t Update After Lead Capture / Lead Update ?
In a few cases, we’ve noticed that the Source Campaign or Source field does not get updated after a lead is captured or imported into the system.
We’d like to clarify that this is expected behavior. Once any data related to source fields is entered and pushed into the system—whether through lead capture or import—it cannot be changed or re-added by any update. This rule is in place to maintain data consistency and ensure that the original lead source remains accurate and reliable for reporting.
So if you find that these fields aren’t updating after import, it’s not a bug—it’s the system working as intended.
