Lead vs Opportunity Call Log Mapping

Issue: If a customer reports that the setting is enabled (see the setting name in the screenshot below for reference), why is the call log being posted to the Opportunity when both the IVR and DID numbers are not passed, instead of being posted to the Lead?

Solution: 
  • When an incoming call occurs, an agent popup appears and users are selecting the oppotunity tab in the agent Popup so why the call log activity is getting posted on the opportunities with the same call section ID which I have mentioned in the below screenshot. If the users are selecting the lead then the call log activity will get posted on the lead.

Our engineering team confirmed that when an event is registered, it is posted on the Lead as per the configuration. However, when the activity is logged via the opportunity popup, the call log is associated with the Opportunity. This is the expected behaviour.
